IT STARTED WITH AN IDEA to provide health care to underserved populations in a remote part of the state known as West Texas. In 1969, that underserved population included Lubbock. But times have changed. Now, almost a half-century later what was once an underserved population now anchors the largest health sciences center in the entire state.
Today, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is home to five schools and a sixth coming soon — each on the forefront of education in its respective discipline. These days, we’re much more than a School of Medicine — and our growth demonstrates that where there is a demand to be met, TTUHSC has the ability to anticipate and meet needs.
By offering hands-on research and clinical experiences, we’re training new generations of healers, caretakers, advocates, practitioners and scientists. Through research, education and patient care, TTUHSC promotes a greater health environment for this region and beyond.
We're combining state-of-the-art technology with traditional values making your life, our purpose.
